Take care not to drop the screw into the G5's case. Using a Philips #2 (cross) screwdriver, remove the screw securing the card to the computer's back panel. It is the bottom-most card, directly above the large grey/silver "G5" heat sink (see figure 4). Your existing graphics card should now be visible. Set this item aside in a safe location as well. Grasp the top of this shield by its handle, tilt it toward you and remove. A clear plastic shield is in place sealing the lower three quarters of the computer interior (see figure 3). The inside of the computer should now be completely visible. Remove the panel and set aside in a safe location (to avoid dropping or scratching). Hold the top corners of the right side panel with both hands and carefully swing the panel outward ( figure 3). This will release the side panel locking mechanism inside the case.
Lift it as far upward as it will swing, with gentle pressure. Lift the latch mechanism from the bottom (see figure 2).
